Gore-Bush Coalition

It is a well-known fact that democracy is one of the best political systems. Monarchy is another one. Monarchy has, in fact, existed on Earth longer than democracy, often with splendid success.

Winston Churchill said that "democracy is the worst system except all others." Yet it was democracy that dethroned him after his great victory in World War II.

Ironically, it was democracy that put in power Adolf Hitler, who was against democracy. In one of his speeches, Hitler boasted that he defeated democracy, in democracy, by democracy.

In spite of the fact that democracy is considered by many to be the best political system, this year’s US presidential election shows that democracy is not perfect. When the voters are so unbelievably evenly divided as in the Gore-Bush contest, the wisest, fairest, best solution would be for Gore and Bush to form a coalition government, a government of American unification and reconciliation for the good not only of the Democratic and Republican parties, but also for the good of the United States and the world.
