"Kir Stefan – the Serb" was founded in October 1993 in Smederevo, Serbia, Yugoslavia. The ages of the 22 choir members range from 14 to 21 years. The choir is named after Kir Stefan Srbin (Sir Stefan the Serb), fifteenth-century choirmaster and composer to the Serbian court at Smederevo.Prince Djuradj Brankovic built Smederevo Castle on the banks of the Danube river in 1430, hopeful against the relentless Ottoman invasion of Serbia...

CHOIR SINGING FOR BEGINNERS

The Saint Sava Serbian Orthodox Church Choir invites you to a first ever CHOIR SINGING FOR BEGINNERS class.

If you've never sung in a church choir but wish to experience the beauty of choir song in the realm of Orthodox Liturgy and celebrated spiritual compositions, while in great company and fun, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

The St. Sava Church Choir in Wakefield (if you haven't heard them recently) has established itself as an organization in a very short period of time. It has formed a strong and consistent group of members who have not only dominated the esteemed Morkranjac Liturgy but also conquered many other respected spiritual choir compositions.

The Choir's accomplishments are largely due to dedicated members and a newly appointed choir director, Jovan Milovanovic, from whom you'll have a chance to develop the basics of choir singing and voice development if you choose to join.

The CHOIR SINGING FOR BEGINNERS class will take place Tuesdays from 7-9 PM at the MIT classroom 4-149 Building 4 (Maclaurin Building). For directions, go to: Maclaurin Building

For all other information, please contact Jovan by telephone at (617) 779-0860 or via e-mail Jovan Milovanovic.

Being able to read music or speak Serbian is NOT a prerequisite. ALL ARE WELCOME!

What is the Zend Optimizer?

The Zend Optimizer is one of the most popular PHP plugins for performance-improvement, and has been available without charge, since the early days of PHP 4. It improves performance by scanning PHP's intermediate code and passing it through multiple Optimization Passes to replace inefficient code patterns with more efficient code blocks. The replaced code blocks perform exactly the same operations as the original code, only faster.

In addition to improving performance, the Zend Optimizer also enables PHP to transparently load files encoded by the Zend Guard.

The Zend Optimizer is a free product available for download from Zend Technologies. Zend Technologies also developed the PHP scripting engine, known as the Zend Engine.
